The 2nd generation version of Wilkinsons 'Classic' Modern Tremolo unit has been a firm favourite with Modders and Custom Guitar Builders for a long time. Moving the tremolo arm away from the sustain block means that you will not lose any sustain whilst holding the arm. It offers several features that are a great improvement over many stock tremolos;
 

  • Locked down saddles for increased tone transfer
  • Adjustable Tension Push-In Tremolo Arm (separated from block)
  • 2-point knife-edge pivot points, for perfect return to pitch
  • Suitable for a variety of guitars with a Post distance ranging between 55mm to 60mm
  • Bushing Diameter - 10mm 

String Spacing: 10.5mm
String Spacing E to E: 52.5mm

Super tremolo, great value too

One of the nicest feeling and most adjustable tremolos I have tried. Great price too.

This trem delivers excellent sustain, and with very low friction in operation it gives reliable return-to-zero. Obviously all trems need a good set up, and a Tusq nut will help too.

I bought mine out of curiosity, and was very pleasantly surprised to find it’s one of the best functioning systems I have used.

If you palm mute a lot, you will enjoy the fact that no sharp grub screws protrude from the saddles. These can of course be trimmed, in other systems, but this Wilkinson unit starts from a good place.

Highly recommended in every respect - don’t imagine paying three times as much will get you a better result. It quite possibly won't!

As good as anything

I have a side business/hobby making bespoke guitars and I use Hipshot bridges because people are typically looking for high end components on a custom build. I have bought some of the 'own brand' equivalents from a curiosity perspective but they have not been great in comparison. This Wilkinson bridge seems every bit as good as any of the Hipshot stuff I have bought or installed so far.

Great as always

I have ordered many times from Northwest Guitars and the service is really good. But more importantly, everything i have bought from them, whether a particular brand or their own brand has always been spot on. Don’t be afraid to try a Northwest Guitars licensed Floyd Rose for example. Nothing to fear there. As for the Wilkinson WVS50IIK Tremolo, I haven’t fitted this one yet as the guitar body is still being sprayed, however I have used this type of tremolo before in conjunction with a graphite nut and roller trees and found them to look cool and hold tune very well. Which is all you really need from a trem. Love it.
