Rustins Grain Filler

Grain filling is an essentail part of any DIY guitar build. If you're looking to paint or stain a guitar body then grain filling is a necessary first step, epsecially for open-pored woods such as Ash, Swamp Ash, Mahogany and oak. It is applied to the wood to fill the pores, preventing sinking of the finish. 

Rustins Grain Filler is supplied as a paste, which is thinned with white spirit and rubbed into the surface of the wood with a lint free cloth. Once dry, the surface can be rubbed down with 400 grit paper until smooth, giving a perfect base on which to add your choise of finish.
