We stock a wide range of high-quality nitrocellulose lacquers and paints suitable for use on any guitar project.
We’ve produced a range of colours found on popular guitar models and used our own Strat and Tele bodies for reference.

This is the same type of lacquer as used on vintage Fender and Gibson guitars which, over time, will produce an aged, tarnished look to your instrument. These are true lacquers, as used by top guitar makers since the 1950s. They dry very quickly and produce a hard glassy finish, unlike other “pre-cat” lacquers

These paints and lacquers are very easy to apply and generally require no sanding in between coats.

Use only in a well-ventilated area. Suitable breathing apparatus should be worn

Additional product information

• 400ml aerosol of nitrocellulose paint - Solid Colour
• Faithful recreation of the original colours from the big F & Gibson
• Will age and crack over time
• Requires sanding and polishing to achieve a glossy finish
• One can is enough to cover a Telecaster style body with around 5-6 coats
• We recommend adding 4-5 coats of clear gloss over all finishes for protection & a deeper glossy shine

• Use aerosols in an upright position to avoid "spitting"
• After use, invert the aerosol and briefly press the nozzle to clear any remaining paint
• We recommend adding a coat of Clear Gloss/Satin over all solid, metallic & transparent colours.

Good coverage.

Bought 2 cans of TV yellow - to go over white base paint (1 can). Shook well and first can sprayed out with a consistent mist that covered well and gave a good smooth finish. Dried quickly on a warm day. Second can at first started to spray splatter and began to mess up my previous spraying with obvious paint blotches. Luckily, this resolved itself after around 7 spray spurts, and was early enough in the paint process to cover the previous paint splatters with a smooth consistent finish: so worked out well in the end -but still needs to be honestly mentioned. Colour is great TV yellow, to my eyes it is a little lighter yellow when i compare it to my Gibson guitars that are already TV yellow from factory, but only slightly lighter and may be due to the white undercoat. Anyhow, the slightly lighter yellow looks to me more attractive than the Gibson TV yellow guitars, that are more of a darker mustard yellow - this has a more authentic vintage TV yellow appearance in my eyes. Thinking of getting some more soon.

Goes on easily and covers well.

Thought I'd try this for a Les Paul junior DC build and couldn't be happier. Works well on bare wood as a sealing coat and covers nicely once you have filler in the pores. Left it nice and thin so you can see some grain. No hassles with runs or sags as long as you spray sensibly thin coats. Dries surprisingly fast too.

First time customer, but not going anywhere!

Great experience buying and using NW guitars products. First time using proper Nitro lacquer but what a great product. Highly recommend
