We stock a wide range of high-quality nitrocellulose lacquers and paints suitable for use on any guitar project.
We’ve produced a range of colours found on popular guitar models and used our own Strat and Tele bodies for reference.

This is the same type of lacquer as used on vintage Fender and Gibson guitars which, over time, will produce an aged, tarnished look to your instrument. These are true lacquers, as used by top guitar makers since the 1950s. They dry very quickly and produce a hard glassy finish, unlike other “pre-cat” lacquers

These paints and lacquers are very easy to apply and generally require no sanding in between coats.

Use only in a well-ventilated area. Suitable breathing apparatus should be worn

Additional product information

• 400ml aerosol of nitrocellulose paint - Transparent Colour
• Faithful recreation of the original colours from the big F & Gibson
• Will age and crack over time
• Requires sanding and polishing to achieve a glossy finish
• One can is enough to cover a Telecaster style body with around 5-6 coats
• We recommend adding 4-5 coats of clear gloss over all finishes for protection & a deeper glossy shine
• Quick drying

• Use aerosols in an upright position to avoid "spitting"
• After use, invert the aerosol and briefly press the nozzle to clear any remaining paint
• We recommend adding a coat of Clear Gloss/Satin over all solid, metallic & transparent colours.
• Each can is enough for 5-6 coats of a Telecaster sized body (depending on coat thickness)
DO NOT WARM AEROSOLS BEFORE USE

Not great to be honest.

I've used this for 3 different guitars now, it's okay with a white primer on first but if you are spraying over clear to get the grain to show through like a 50's blackguard you'll need a minimum of 2 if not 3 cans to get any decent colour of butterscotch yellow.

The picture shows a full can used to spray an Alder body. 6 coats over a couple of days.
