Northwest Guitars Professional Nitrocellulose Guitar Paints are crafted for luthiers, restorers, and hobbyists seeking authentic finishes. Used on early Fender and Gibson guitars, this premium formula delivers vintage tones and aesthetics. Over time, it develops a natural patina with sought-after checking and cracking effects, capturing the character of classic instruments.

With colours inspired by legendary models like Butterscotch Blonde, Lake Placid Blue, and Pelham Blue, this paint allows you to recreate iconic finishes or craft unique designs. Its thin, resonant finish enhances tone and appearance, perfect for vintage restorations or custom builds.

Each 400ml aerosol includes an elliptical nozzle for precision application and provides enough paint for 5-6 coats. Once dried, the finish can be polished and buffed to a glossy shine, showcasing your instrument’s beauty.

Northwest Guitars Nitrocellulose Paints combine durability, authenticity, and exceptional results for guitar finishing projects.

Great products and service

I like to fix up guitars as a hobby and have bought all sorts of bits from all over the internet BUT - having been disappointed by quality or service so many times - I now only buy from a few very trusted sources and Northwest Guitars is right at the top of that list - I especially like their nitro paints and lacquer - it’s just great quality and always delivered fast.

Wine red nitro aerosol

Im eagerly waiting before flat sanding and buffing but the colour is fantastic. Its almost identical to my custom shop murphy lab 64 335 cheery red which is a darker more wine red. The colour went on very well with no issues and im expecting the final result to be better than i actually expeted

Not as transparent as expected

Not used this colour before, it was far less transparent than expected. It has taken a lot of work to knock back enough to let the wood grain show through. Not cured enough yet to give a final comment but it does seem more susceptible to blush than other nitro finishes.
