Squier Stratocaster Compatible Tremolo Unit - BS005
Designed specifically for the Squier Stratocaster series, the BS005 tremolo unit comes with a shorter sustain block compared to its USA counterpart. This adjustment is essential given that the Squier body is typically slightly slimmer than the USA/Mexican models and can't accommodate a full-sized block.
The 52.5mm mounting hole spacing means that this unit is a direct replacement for the existing tremolo, with no modifications required.
This Squier-compatible tremolo unit features a Zinc sustain block, just like the original.
Zinc is lighter than other materials, such as brass or steel. This can help keep the overall weight of the guitar down, which might be preferable for some players.
While this is somewhat subjective and varies between players, some guitarists believe that zinc provides a balanced tonal characteristic, without overly accentuating highs or lows.

I wanted a gold tremolo for a Squier Affinity Strat that I was rebuilding after rescuing it from the local recycling centre (tip). There aren't too many options for short block tremolo but this looked the part and was at a good price. Service from Northwest Guitars was flawless as always. The trem fitted perfectly, looks great and works really well. Perfectly stable tuning. It needed a spring in the block for the arm but a big pack was only a few quid (these get lost all the time!). I'm really pleased with it and would definitely recommend for a narrow-bodied strat.

I honestly cannot fault this bridge. This is my first partcaster build so am learning as I go along. The unit is excellent quality and fits the body perfectly, what impressed me most was the quality of the screws and springs, no problems at all with installation.
