This SPDT ON-ON mini toggle switch is a compact and versatile solution for adding advanced switching options to your guitar. Commonly used for functions such as coil tapping or pickup activation, it’s a perfect fit for modders and custom wiring setups.
In our “Dave Gilmour” Strat wiring harness, this switch is used to activate the neck pickup, allowing combinations not normally possible on a standard 5-way switch — such as bridge + neck, or all three pickups together.
Below are some common uses of the SPDT on-on toggle switch
Gilmour Mod (Neck Pickup Activation)
- Adds the neck pickup in any selector position (e.g. bridge + neck or all 3).
- Wired between the neck pickup hot wire and the 5-way switch output.
Coil Tap or Coil Split
- Switches between full humbucker and single-coil mode by shorting one coil to ground.
Pickup Selector (Basic 2-Pickup Setup)
- Selects between neck and bridge pickups without a traditional 3-way switch.
