Brass sleeves do the trick!

If you have a split-shaft potentiometer (volume or tone control etc) these brass sleeves solve the problem of being able to fit a control knob that attaches with a grub screw. They’re an inexpensive life-saver!

Great Idea, Cheap Solution

An excellent idea if you have a knob with a securing grub screw that's designed for a solid round shaft pot and it is a little loose on a split-shaft pot. The sleeve is a nice tight fit over the splined/fluted 6mm diameter part of a standard split shaft pot and allows the grub screw to be tightened so that the pot sits nice and straight on the shaft. When fitting pots with grub screws to splined split shafts they invariably tilt to one side no matter how careful you are in lining up the split with the grub screw, and when the knob is turned it's like a witch's hat playground ride. The sleeves prevent this.

Great little sleeves.

These are great little sleeves. They're strong and fit the shaft well. My only problem was that the tight fitting hole in the metal Gretsch knobs that I chose, were the same size as the sleeve and wouldn't push on, so I had to improvise by packing out the split shaft to make it work.
