Non-woven abrasive pads are flexible, durable surface-preparation tools made by bonding abrasive minerals into a nylon fibre matrix. This construction provides consistent cutting action while resisting clogging, making them suitable for controlled sanding, blending, and finishing work.
Commonly used as an alternative to steel wool, these pads are ideal for guitar body preparation, paint scuffing between coats, finish de-nibbing, and general workshop use. Their flexible structure allows them to conform to body contours, edges, and carved surfaces without cutting aggressively.
Available in a range of colour-coded grades, each pad is suited to specific tasks — from ultra-fine polishing and final finish preparation to medium grades for blending, keying surfaces, and light material removal. The non-metallic construction avoids shedding and reduces the risk of contamination when working on painted or finished guitar components.
