8-hole Scratchplate to fit most USA, Mexican Telecasters and Squier model Telecasters

In 1969, Fender changed the design of their scratchplates. Moving away from 5 fixing screw holes to 8. They'd come to realise that the original 5 holes weren't enough to keep the plate from lifiting away from the body in certain areas.

Mounting holes for the neck pickup were also introduced, thus making pickup height adjustment much easier (previously the scratchplate would need to be removed to do this)

We've modelled our 8 hole scratchplates on this more modenr design, but with a wider variety of colours and a choice of single or 3-ply.

1997 Telecaster California Series

The screw holes are perfectly placed and the plate fits snugly around the neck. But, I had to route out (circa 2mm) the cutaway for the switch plate to make it fit.
On other models it may be perfect!

Beautiful material, which really completes the look of my guitar. Sadly, the fit was not perfect around the chrome control panel with the pick up selector, vol & tone pots. Required some additional filing and sanding in order to make the fit. Each of the screw holes were in the correct position, though. I fitted this to my Fender Player Telecaster.

Good fit - durability?

Fitted my Player II perfectly. Played a few times since this and already it looks quite scratched. I get it, thats why we have them! But my other guitars with older pick guards dont look so scratched and I wonder if the material grade is a bit softer than OEM kit. Not a big issue either way.
