Wilkinson Left-Handed WTB Bridge for Telecaster

One of the most popular Telecaster upgrades out there, the Wilkinson Telecaster Compatible Bridge combines all of Trev Wilkinson's design ethos offering a vast improvement on the bridges that come as standard on Tele-style guitars. It comes supplied with colour-matched screws and an Allen key for adjusting the saddles.

Compensated Brass Saddles

Brass saddles are amongst the best materials out there when it comes to bridge saddles design. This is because they impart a warm tonality that isn't too bright, whilst being hard enough to not suffer from wear over time and deliver excellent intonation properties.

Stamped Steel

The base plate is made from stamped steel, just like the original Telecaster bridges were. This gives you fantastic durability and reliable performance from the off, delivering sustain and tone enhancements for your instrument.

Dual Loading Bridge Design

This bridge is dual loading, so you can have your strings as top loading or string thru. There are various reasons you might choose either, so having both as an option is a pretty good deal!

String Thru

When using a string thru bass bridge, you'll have increased tension versus a top-loading bridge, which some players prefer as it gives you a more stable playing platform, particularly when you're plucking with your fingers. It really comes down to personal preference, as both will sound equally great, just different.

Top Loading

When top loading, the strings are top mounted to the back of the bridge, which means a slightly lesser string tension than that of a through body. This will make the guitar sound more resonant and lively, which some players prefer over string-thru style bridges.

Wilkinson Compensated Tele Compatible Bridge

There's a good reason the Wilkinson WTB is one of the best-selling Tele-compatible bridges out there, it fits the vast majority of genuine Fender guitars, and imports, and makes a great starting point for any brand-new Tele-style builds as well.

WTF!! LEFT HANDED bridge plate with RIGHT HANDED Intonated saddles???

NORTHWEST GUITARS PLEASE CHECK YOUR STOCK!! This is an excellent concept marred by lack of attention to detail. The Sung Il factory has fitted Right handed intonated saddles on their Left Handed bridge plates. A text book Quality Control failure. You cannot just swap the saddles around as the left handed saddles are mirror image of the right handed ones. From left to right ...

Right Handed: E _-- A D --_ G B _-- E

Left Handed: E --_ B G _-- D A --_ E

Out of the box this product is not fit for purpose without compromised workarounds or a proper set of left handed intonated saddles, as it will intonate worse than plain barrrel sadddles. The only work around I can suggest is to intonate 4 of the strings with 2 of the saddles and use the barrel underside of the remaining saddle for the other 2 strings.

I've given a score of 4 because the Wilkinson/Sung Il components are rock solid, of good quality and using the work around I mentioned will give better intonation than 3 stock barrel saddles. This would still be a worthwhile upgrade over the stock tele bridge on most tele clones. Fits my Harley Benton TE-62CC LH SFG using Gotoh In-Tune brass saddles fine.

Fortunately in my case I bought this for the bridge plate only, as I have some Gotoh Brass In-Tune saddles to install instead of the Wilkinson intonated saddles that come as stock.
