Product details
Seymour Duncan’s Antiquity for P-Bass is a faithful recreation of Leo Fender’s original 1957 dual-coil pickup design. It delivers the signature warm, woody tone with a softer treble response and the rich body and depth that defined early Precision Basses. The custom ageing process adds a mellow character that feels authentically vintage.
This pickup is available in two versions: a standard flat-pole model and one with a raised “A” string pole. The raised version replicates a rare late-’50s Fender design that compensated for the A-string’s lower output by using a taller (.625”) rod magnet. Both variants share the same vintage look, tone, and build quality.
Hand made in Seymour Duncan’s Custom Shop, the Antiquity for P-Bass features hand-fabricated Forbon bobbins, plain enamel magnet wire, hand-ground sand-cast magnets, and a brass bottom plate. Waxed cloth push-back wire completes the vintage-spec build. Each unit is lacquered and potted in lamp black paraffin wax, just like the originals.
• 1957 P-Bass tone with warm, woody vintage character
• Softer treble and rich low-end from aged components
• Optional raised “A” pole for better string balance
• Hand wound with vintage-correct materials
• Lacquered and wax-potted like the 1950s originals
Output: 11k
• Compatible with 4-string Fender Precision Bass
