Tonerider Octane Humbucker Pickup
Pickup available at Northwest Guitars
Usually ready in 1 hour
The Tonerider Octane pickup delivers an even more aggressive and refined tone, with lead lines that cut through the mix and power chords that are sharp, tight, and focused. It’s designed for players who demand precision and clarity in their high-gain playing, offering a punchy attack and controlled response that is perfect for fast, articulate riffs and solos. Whether chugging through heavy rhythms or unleashing scorching leads, the Octane pickup gives you the edge you need.
Built around a custom-designed Alnico 8 magnet, the Octane pickup produces a noticeably warmer tone and is more dynamic than what you would get from standard ceramic magnet pickups. This warmth is balanced by a remarkable ability to easily handle high gain, bringing out intricate harmonic details and adding depth to your playing, even at higher distortion levels. The enhanced magnetic field of the Alnico 8 provides greater note definition and ensures that your tone remains clear, without losing the character and complexity that discerning players seek.
Every Octane pickup is meticulously wax-potted to eliminate the possibility of microphonic feedback, ensuring a quiet and reliable performance on any stage or in the studio. This process makes the pickup more resilient in high-volume situations, allowing you to push your amp without worrying about unwanted noise.
Each Tonerider Octane also comes equipped with #3/48 screws and springs for a secure fit, as well as a comprehensive installation guide to make the setup process as smooth as possible, so you can focus on dialling in your perfect tone.

When selecting pickup spacing, consider your guitar’s bridge type. Standard spacing (49-50mm) works best for guitars with fixed bridges, like Gibson Les Pauls, SGs, and ES-335s.
F-spacing (52-53mm) is designed for tremolo-equipped guitars, such as Fender Stratocasters, Telecasters with tremolos, and guitars with Floyd Rose systems. Choosing the right spacing ensures proper string alignment and optimal tone.
