The Hagstrom Fantomen in White Gloss is the result of a collaboration between Hagstrom's design team and the Swedish band Ghost. Taking the playability and build quality of Hagstrom's legendary build team, the Fantomen is edgy and eye-catching, with great tone to match.

This guitar is brand new, free from any scuffs or scrapes and in absolutely stunning condition, we're super happy to be raffling it off!

About Ghost

Ghost are a Grammy-award winning Swedish rock band with an eccentric on stage appearance. Despite looking like the Swedish version of Slipknot, their music is very much hard rock, with more in common with Bon Jovi than Behemoth. The Fantomen is a key part of their sound and stage show, providing great rock sound with the looks to match the exuberant personality of the band.

Lightweight Body

Despite it's large size, the body is relatively thin, making it balanced and surprisingly lightweight despite being made of solid mahogany. It's an elegant, assymetrical look that will definitely turn some heads whether you're at home, on stage, or in the studio!

Long Scale Maple Neck

The Canadian maple set neck is joined to the body utilising a classic mortise and tenon joint, providing efficient transfer of string energy from the neck to the body. The neck joint has been hand carved by Hagstrom's dedicated craftsmen, guaranteeing great execution every time. Unusually for this type of guitar, it has a longer 25.5" scale neck. This provides a sharper attack, and helps add to the overall sustain of the instrument.

H-Expander Truss Rod

Hagstrom's H-Expander truss rod provides tension at both ends of the neck. It's rigid and lightweight, which allows for a thin neck with a very low action, making this one super-fast playing guitar. The H-Expander also adds to the tone of the guitar, helping enhance sustain and round the attack of its sonic character.

Resinator Wood Fretboard

The fretboard is comprised of a composite material that is more uniform in density than traditional fretboard woods, resulting in a more stable end product. Resinator wood has an articulation that's similar to Ebony, but without any of the problems you can get with natural wood, such as dead spots. Resinator wood has been one of the contributing factors to the 'Hagstrom' sound, adding higher overtones and harmonics that detail your playing.

Lundgren Pickups

The pickups on this guitar were created by Johan Lundgren, famous for his work with Martin Hagstrom of Meshuggah. The partciular combination they've chosen for the Fantomen allow for a huge range of tones from classic crunch to modern high gain. The Lundgren Alnico II in the neck position gives you smooth, warm tones that are great for lead work and clean chords. The Lundgren Alnico V in the bridge gives you a vibrant attack and intense dynamic output that's perfect for hard rock riffing.

Push/pull switches on the tone controls allow you to split each pickup to single coil mode, offering even more sonic flexibility. This feature turns a straight rock guitar into something much more nuanced, with plenty of variety in its voices.

Hagstrom Hardware

The Fantomen is completed by Hagstrom's own hardware. A Long Travel Tune-O-Matic Bridge ensures great sustain and stability, even with the hardest riffing and lead work. Combined with a set of Hagstrom 18:1 Die Cast tuners, you get a smooth tuning action alongside a distinctive look.

We're super pleased to be offering this incredible instrument as part of Northwest Guitars Competitions. It's head-turning looks and awesome rock guitar sound certainly make it a guitar worth having!
