Seymour Duncan based this pickup on classic Jazz Bass tone, but with added punch and power. Voiced slightly lower than traditional Jazz Bass pickups, it delivers a hotter output and a fuller low end, offering plenty of low-end boom without excessive high-end sizzle. Hand-ground Alnico 5 magnets and a custom coil wind produce a warm, fat tone with a growling low-mid character—ideal for rock and more aggressive playing styles.
The neck pickup is reverse-wound, reverse-polarity (RWRP), so it hum-cancels when used with the bridge pickup. Both pickups are designed as direct drop-in replacements for American Standard Jazz Basses and include black logo covers for a clean look.
Handcrafted in Santa Barbara, CA, the Hot for Jazz Bass pickups feature Alnico 5 magnets, Forbon flatwork, and are wax potted for squeal-free performance.
