The BB404 dual-loading bass guitar bridge is made in the same factory as all of our Wilkinson Hardware, ensuring outstanding quality. It's perfect when you need the versatility of two string loading methods. Featuring both string-thru holes as well as the ability to top load the strings, this bass bridge ensures you're always able to satisfy the player's needs.
Top Loading
When top loading, the strings are top mounted to the back of the bridge, which means a slightly lesser string tension than that of a through body. This will make the guitar sound more resonant and lively, improving the overall tone of your bass guitar.
String Thru
When using a string thru bass bridge, you'll have increased tension versus that of a top-loading bridge, which some players prefer as it gives you a more stable playing platform, particularly when you're plucking with your fingers. It comes down to personal preference which you prefer, as both will sound equally great, just different.

Great service from Northwest Guitars, they replied to 3 or 4 emails asking for dimensions and specs very promptly and helpfully, and the bridge was in the post very quickly after ordering.
The actual item was exactly as described and fit my bass perfectly.
One tiny issue I had was with the threaded holes in the base of the bridge where 3mm hex bolts screw in to hold the individual saddles in position. One of the holes stripped its thread quite easily, but as there are two for each string I used the other one, tightening it a bit more carefully.
But as the price was very reasonable, and it works, i’m more than happy. Thank you Northwest Guitars!
I am very pleased with this purchase. The bridge is very robust and feels like a high quality item. Would certainly use again. A little diagram would be wonderful, but this was not a deal breaker.
Very pleased with this bass, one or two miner tunings problems , nice setup clean
Sound lightweight and balance is great, bought for my 13 year old girl, who took it to the school and played in the school band, I am a professional guitar player and never have playd a bass, so I had to try it out, I now want one for me, thank you Northweat guitars I will be back to add to my collection.
