Roller Saddle Bridge for Epiphone

A nice Bridge required for a Gretsch 6120TG - I always fit a roller saddle Tunamatic bridge to Gretsch guitars as it allows intonation and also string travel is not affected by the Bigsby.

The strings stay in tune better as another benefit. I made a rough adjustment to the saddle positions before fitting, put a new set of strings on the guitar and fitted the bridge which dropped on easily to the existing posts.

The string height was set on the turnwheels and the strings were tuned, then the bridge was finally adjusted for intonation which was straightforward. This now plays great, sounds good and works well. Good value for money.

It is slightly deeper in height than the original bridge but fitted without any further work to reduce the height of the unit.

For some reason a Bigsby ladden Gretsch comes with a stock TOM bridge...Why? This roller bridge dropped straight onto the existing pins and you get smooth as butter twangy bar-ing. And tuning stability is improved. Third one I have bought and put on a guitar with a Bigsby.

Fitted perfectly to replace tune o matic bridge. Just dropped in.

Having fitted a Bigsby to my Casino Coupé, the tuning stability was somewhat compromised, due to the acute break angle over the bridge (this seems to be a common problem, even with factory fitted Bigsbys, with this break angle). The roller bridge was an easy drop in replacement and the difference in tuning stability is remarkable, you can really give the Bigsby a good dive and it comes back to pitch (or thereabouts) in a very acceptable manner. The bridge is a bit higher than the standard tunamatic, so make sure to use the supplied adjustment wheels, as they are slimmer than the originals. I had no trouble getting the action low enough after fitting these and able to achieve spot on intonation. A thoroughly recommended product.

I fitted the nickel plated version to a gibson guitar with a bigsby vibrato unit. It helped with the smoothness of operation, sensitivity and return to pitch. I experience far fewer tuning problems since fitting this bridge. It was very reasonably priced but there is no noticeable difference in quality from the original tune-o-matic. I will be purchasing another to fit to another guitar.
